West Central Park encompasses the area sandwiched between Huntington Central Park and the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve. The neighborhood is a nature-lovers paradise, with beach access, regional parks, and, of course, the beautiful Huntington Central Park to explore. Residents often spend their days by the water or at a local golf club to make the most of the area’s stunning year-round weather.
The neighborhood is known for being family-oriented and is rapidly growing in popularity for its unique position between locations like Sunset Beach and downtown Huntington Beach. More restaurants and shops are popping up as the area continues to expand, making it an excellent place for individuals and families to settle down.

West Central Park provides locals with a suburban feel, as many residents own their homes. The neighborhood places a strong emphasis on outdoor recreation, and locals love spending their free time outdoors. If they’re not soaking up the sun at Bolsa Chica State Beach, they’re probably hiking at Harriett M. Wieder Regional Park or playing a round of golf at the
Huntington Club.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Dining in West Central Park offers an array of casual eateries, with one of the best being the
Park Bench Cafe. Located just to the east of Goldenwest Street, the Park Bench Cafe is a laid-back American spot perfect for breakfast and lunch. Locals can stop by before hitting the trails or spending the afternoon at Talbert Lake. The main place to go to find other restaurants near West Central Park is along Beach Blvd.
Saffron Grill is an excellent spot for Persian fare, while
Issara Thai Cuisine, just north of the park, is a local go-to for takeout.
For shopping near West Central Park, there’s Warner Dale Square, at the corner of Warner Avenue and Springdale Street, with a selection of restaurants and shops.
Huntington Harbour Mall is another option with shops, eateries, and services to choose from. Or, locals can head to the Beach Garfield Shopping Center.
Things to Do
Central Park is, of course, a highlight of living in the neighborhood, with its multi-field
sports complex, beautiful disc golf course, and nearby
equestrian center and horse stables. Also located in the park is the
Shipley Nature Center, a tranquil 18-acre preserve with gorgeous walking trails and a number of native plant and animal species to view.
The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is another beautiful preserve to visit, with 1,300 acres, habitats for more than 200 species of birds, and connections to local hiking trails.
West Central Park also participates in a number of annual events and festivals like the annual Taste of Huntington Beach, where locals can sample fare from more than 50 vendors, including fantastic regional wineries. The Huntington Beach Historical Society also puts on a yearly
reenactment of the Revolutionary War. Locals can find the best golfing nearby at the
Meadowlark Golf Club and the
Huntington Club.
